Fourier Audio announce successful initial investment

The British start-up closed the round at a £1m pre-money valuation

Future Worlds cohort alumnus Fourier Audio has announced the successful closing of their angel pre-seed raise of £170k at a pre-money valuation of £1m, the launch of their first product, and are seeking their first hire.

Fourier Audio is revolutionising the way audiences experience audio by reinventing the tools used by designers to shape sound for live productions. The visionary startup, co-founded by Southampton postgraduate Acoustical Engineering student Henry Harrod, multi-Olivier award-winning sound designer Gareth Owen and established entertainment technologies engineer Peter Bridgman, is taking advantage of the entrepreneurs’ unique access to market and vision for applying new technologies in a sector ripe for disruption.

Having successfully completed the Future Worlds Founders Cohort in June 2021, co-founders Henry, Gareth and Peter have partnered with a pool of angel investors to support the company’s growth through 2022, and announced the launch of their first product, Fourier Rewind, at the recent PLASA trade show.

Henry said “Coming hot on the heels of a fantastically successful product launch for Fourier Rewind at PLASA, closing a heavily oversubscribed pre-seed round so quickly shows how excited the industry is for disruptive change and will turbocharge our progress towards that. We’re really excited to start delivering the future of live audio processing.”

Fourier are now looking to grow their team and are actively seeking a founding full stack engineer to take a lead role in delivering their vision. More details on the post can be found here.

Future Worlds Tech Acceleration Manager, Grace Burton said “It’s fantastic to see yet another startup from the Future Worlds Founders Cohort gain investment. It’s a real testament to the quality of startups coming out of the University of Southampton and the abilities of the talented founders that lead them and shows what can be achieved in a very short space of time with the right supporting network”
